English Spelling Vol.1 is a book on a computer disk
(Word documents only - no sound).
It covers the sounds of the alphabet and the short vowel sounds of English
and their most common spellings
It has teachers' notes on how to use the materials most effectively
as well as hand cards and wall charts,
traditional songs for teaching both the names and the sounds of the alphabet.
There are numerous photocopiable exercises into which teachers can insert the names of their students.
It is suitable for learners of any age trying to cope with the idiosyncrasies of English spelling.
A new sound CD covers all the sounds used on this original computer CD
and in the second volume of English Spelling published in 2005.
There is also with permission to copy the sound CD once onto cassette
for teachers without ready access in classrooms to CD players with detailed tracking.
